Mat Maitland’s work will be best known to most from the cover work he produced for electronic pop duo Basement Jaxx. Reveling in an ultra-glam, ultra-gloss style of montage, his work is like a fusion of 70s and 80s airbrush fantasy/photorealism on steroids. He features amongst other art directors and illustrators as part of the BigActive collective, which is well worth a look if you’re into cool contemporary illustration and design.
